for Melbourne-based skincare brand Sand & Sky. Internship from July 2019 - December 2019, Part-time Junior Digital Designer from March 2020 - Nov 2020

Born and raised in Melbourne, Sand & Sky is about creating a holiday for your skin. The brand is young, fun and refreshingly Australian, with a strong emphasis on no worries skin care. Full of Australian botanicals, it comes through beautifully in their brand story.

Email marketing is a key direct channel for e-commerce brands to reach their audience. Sand & Sky uses EDMs to provide useful tips on how to use their products, and to notify customers about restocks, new products and discounts.

As a brand with a large social media following, Sand & Sky places a strong emphasis on the creation of marketing assets for their social media platforms. This includes ads for Facebook and Instagram, as well as Instagram stories. The Black Friday series of Instagram Stories had a completion rate of 83% and had one of the highest click-through-rates, making it one of the best performing Instagram Stories of 2019.

This series of short-form Facebook ads were created for the Australian Emu Apple Enzyme Polish product launch in May 2020, and these creatives had the highest Click-through-rates and Return on Ad Sales for that month.

Google ads are also a key direct channel for Sand & Sky. Most importantly, paired with Google Analytics, they can showcase unique selling points to customers and are opportunities to experiment with brand identity.

An e-commerce site is not complete without an attractive landing page. High-contrast pages can drive traffic and can also showcase brand identity to new customers.
